No Hopeless Case: DCLM Daily Manna 12 July, 2024.
DCLM Daily Manna 12 July 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi—”No Hopeless Case!”
TOPIC: “No Hopeless Case!” (DCLM Daily Manna, July 2024)
Key Verse: “And he took the damsel by the hand and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise” (Mark 5:41).
Text: Mark 5:22–24, 34–43 (KJV)
Mark 5:22-24:
22 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,
23 And I beseeched him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death; I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.
24 And Jesus went with him, and many people followed him and thronged him.
Mark 5:34-43:
34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
35 While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house certain words, which said, Thy daughter is dead; why troublet thou the Master any further?
36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.
37 And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, James, and John, the brother of James.
38 And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue and seeth the tumult, and they that wept and wailed greatly.
39 And when he came in, he said unto them, Why make you do this and weep? The damsel is not dead, but sleeps.
40 And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he took the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entered where the damsel was lying.
41 And he took the damsel by the hand and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.
42 And straightway the damsel arose and walked, for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with great astonishment.
43 And he charged them straitly that no man should know it and commanded that something should be given her to eat.
DCLM Daily Manna for Today MESSAGE:
A common saying, “When there is life, there is hope,” speaks of the possibility of recovery or survival as long as the chances for it still exist. It stems from the belief that death seals all hope and forecloses every possibility of survival. As long as there is life, all human efforts and skills can be put to use to salvage a situation. But once life goes out and death sets in, human knowledge, money, position, etc. can do nothing. Death ends all hope.
Jairus sought the help of Jesus to heal his sick and dying daughter. He believed that while the daughter was still alive, something could still be done to restore her life. However, while Jesus was on the way to minister healing to the sick girl, news came that she was dead. All hope for them was now lost. But death is not strong enough to stop the master. In death, He restores life; in hopelessness, He gives hope. Jesus calmed the fear of the troubled, bereaved father, encouraging him to only believe. Exercising the authority He has over death, Jesus caused the dead daughter to come back to life.

With Jesus, no case is hopeless. All human knowledge, skills, and expertise may fail; the medical sciences worldwide may not solve your issue. Your dreams, ambitions, and proposals may have been declared dead on arrival, signalling no hope or solution from man. But with Jesus, no situation is without hope.
All you must do is “be not afraid; only believe”! If all men have failed and all solutions have proved abortive, let Jesus take over the case. Believe absolutely in the Lord today, and turn deaf ears to all mourners and wailers who want to make you believe that hope is gone and so give up faith. The joy of your life will rise again at the command of Jesus, because with Him, no case is hopeless.
Thoughts for the Day
With Jesus, there is hope in every hopeless situation!
THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Genesis 35-37
Lord Jesus, come into my life. I accept you as my Lord and personal savior. I believe in my heart that you died and rose from the dead to save me. Thank you, Lord, for saving me, in Jesus name, Amen.
