Worship Over Worry: Healing the Mind and Soul

There is no better way to tackle your anxiety, fear, and worries than by giving thanks and rejoicing through worship. At some point in our lives, we are burdened by one problem or another. It might be financial or health-related. Sometimes, these problems might be minor, like trying to impress our parents, a lady, or a man.

These problems can easily throw a person into a lake of excessive worry. A person’s joy quickly turns into sorrow, and every moment the mind is occupied with thoughts of what will be and may not be.

When this situation arises, the best thing to do is to turn to God, not in prayer but in worship. There’s a common saying, “Prayer is the key,” but I tell you today that worship is the major key.God dwells in worship; he loves to be worshipped. You might be wondering; What do I have to praise God for? The answer is life. As humans, we cannot achieve anything if we are dead. And it is God who gives life; his benevolence keeps us alive, and that is enough reason to sing his praises.

When God does his wonders, he does it in his own time. No amount of prayer or fasting will hasten him; his methods are always for the best. Your worries and challenges are not greater than God’s power. Sometimes God wants us to appreciate life and understand it, so we will be grateful for our lives.

How to Turn Your Worries Into Worship.

  • ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR WORRIES

The first step towards getting rid of worry and anxiety is to recognise your circumstances, embrace your anxieties, and avoid denying or suppressing your concerns. Own your tale, accept your flaws, acknowledge your mistakes, and own your story. Denial will only lead to depression.

  • PRACTICE GRATITUDE.

To truly overcome your worries, you need to have a grateful heart. Worshipping God is the best possible way of showing gratitude to him. Like I said earlier, God dwells in praise. A proverb says that whoever is grateful for yesterday’s gift will surely receive more. If you’re too focused on your problems, you will fail to see the countless gifts God has bestowed on you and deny yourself the chance to receive more.

Only a grateful heart can give thanks to God; therefore, only a grateful heart can worship. The Bible says 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV). “In everything, give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”. Learn to appreciate God even amid worries. No matter how turbulent the waves are, God can still steer you in the right direction, as long as you believe in him.

  • EMBRACE FAITH

Faith is the vehicle that transports our prayers. Proverbs 24:10 says, “If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.” This verse tells us that it is during tough times that our faith must be strongest. Without faith, you cannot worship God; you would only be praising half-heartedly.

Faith is the driving force behind our connection with God. Without faith, we would be apostates, losing sight of the truth.

Also, as little children look up to their parents for everything, we must look to God. If God is for us, who can be against us? No one. As long as we put our faith in God, we can rejoice and relax in expectation of his blessings. Heb 11: 1 (KJV) “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”.

Finally, when worries torment you, throw your worship at them, and you will see them disappear. Worship is the major key to overcoming worry and embracing life. Acknowledge your worries, practice gratitude, and embrace faith. Worshipping God is also the best way to show gratitude, as God dwells in praise. A grateful heart allows you to appreciate God even amid worries. Therefore, trust in God, as He is for you and will guide you in the right direction. Trust in God and rejoice in His blessings, as He is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.
