Adeboye Warns of End Times After Pastor’s Arrest
Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has expressed concern over the arrest of one of the church’s pastors in a foreign country.
He explained that the pastor was detained for addressing an audience at a program with the phrase “Ladies and gentlemen,” which was deemed discriminatory for not being inclusive of all genders recognised in that culture.
He shared this during the church’s monthly Thanksgiving service at the RCCG Throne of Grace in Lagos State on Sunday. His sermon, titled “My Father’s House” and broadcast to all church parishes, emphasised the urgency of the times.
He said, “The end is nearer than you think. Things are getting worse, and this is a wake-up call. One of my pastors abroad was arrested for simply addressing a gathering as ‘ladies and gentlemen.’
“Some people reported him for discrimination, asking, ‘What about those who are neither ladies nor gentlemen?”
The man of God also shared another troubling story of a woman who pointed out to her dog as her husband.
When she was asked about her spouse, the woman responded, “I took him to the vet before coming. He doesn’t talk,” describing her “husband” as a dog.
Pastor Adeboye voiced his deep concern over the global decline in moral values, viewing such incidents as indications of the approaching end times.
He stated, “Those of you already in Christ, take this matter seriously. Do not let anyone weaken your stand. God is holy. Those still playing church, singing, clapping, and enjoying things without genuine commitment, remember, Jesus is coming back. The devil wants to harvest you, but you must not give him the opportunity. I want to see you in my father’s house.”
Popularly known for addressing national issues and the activities of the church, especially about embodying foreign cultures into the church, he showed disapproval with men who plait their hair and women who use artificials.
Pastor Adeboye also showed dissatisfaction with the common trends among church workers, strongly warning that those styles would no longer be permitted on RCCG altars.
Speaking during the church’s 72nd annual convention in August, he expressed astonishment at the increasing prevalence of these fashion choices among members.
This year’s convention, themed “Heaven,” took place from Monday, August 5, to Sunday, August 11, 2024, at The Redemption City, Mowe, Ogun State, along the Lagos-Ibadan Motorway.
