‘Shameful’: Patrick Doyle Condemns Money-Centered Gospel

Veteran actor Patrick Doyle,A veteran actor has shared his opinion about the idea of “transactional gospel,” calling on the need for proper perspective.

He opined that most religious teachings focus more on making money and owning material things, which are only attached to the world and not to spirituality.

Doyle faulted ‘men of God who place financial contribution as a measure of faith, adding that those ways are not right and shameful.

Doyle believes that true transaction in spirituality is trusting God and receiving His blessings.

He pointed out that God’s preferred currency is trust, which can only be cultivated through intimacy and spending time with Him.

More He persuades people to tighten their efforts in getting close to God by diving more into God’s word, which is the only “trust savings account that guides to better spiritual rewards.

In all, Doyle’s advice to Christians is to know their stand and place more importance on things that will boost their spiritual growth.

The writeup on his Facebook page states: “The debate about the “transactional gospel” needs to be properly paralysed. Too much emphasis has been placed on the currency of transactions. Cash is the currency of transactions in the physical world and is of absolutely no relevance in spiritual matters. The “Men of God” who elevated money to the principal mode of kingdom transaction ought to be ashamed of themselves.

He added, “Trusting God and receiving God’s bounty is a transaction. God’s preferred currency of transaction is your trust in Him. To trust anyone or anything demands that one has a measure of intimacy with the object of one’s trust. You can’t trust what or who you haven’t spent time with. Spend time with the word of God and observe how your trust savings account increases.”
