Court Remands Paul Eneche’s Brothers and Another in Prison

A magistrate court in Wuse, Abuja, has ordered the remand of Alexander Enenche, Mr. Enenche Enenche, and former Dunamis pastor Abraham Daniel at Keffi Prison in Nasarawa State. The trio, who are brothers of Pastor Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Church, were remanded following a police invitation and subsequent allegations of cyberbullying and criminal defamation against Pastor Paul Enenche.

The three were first detained by the Nigerian Police Force at the Force Intelligence Department (FID) after responding to a police invitation related to the allegations. Alexander Enenche and Pastor Abraham Daniel were apprehended on January 7, 2025, on allegations of cybercrime. They were granted bail the next day after reportedly agreeing to resolve the matter amicably. However, they were required to report back to the police on January 10 and January 13.

Upon their appearance at the Force Headquarters on Monday, January 13, 2025, they were held in police custody. Later that evening, a remand order was secured from the Magistrate Court, leading to their transfer to Keffi Custodial Centre. Details regarding the remand order, including the name of the magistrate and the duration of their detention, have not been disclosed.

Sources close to the case indicated plans to file a fundamental rights application to challenge their continued detention. “We are working on filing a fundamental rights application tomorrow,” said a source familiar with the matter.

The circumstances leading to their detention highlight ongoing legal and personal disputes within the circle associated with Dunamis International Gospel Church. Given the prominence of the individuals involved, the legal proceedings will likely continue to attract public and media attention.
