NAHCON Announces N8.3m to N8.7m Hajj Fare for 2025
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced the fare structure for Nigerians planning to undertake the Hajj pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia in 2025. The cost for the pilgrimage will range between N8,327,125.59 and N8,784,085.59. This fare announcement follows extensive consultations with the Office of the Vice President, which approved the proposed costs, ensuring a collaborative approach to maintaining affordability for Nigerian Muslims.
The fare for the pilgrimage varies by region, with pilgrims from different parts of Nigeria paying different amounts. Pilgrims from the Adamawa/Borno zone, which covers Adamawa, Borno, Taraba, and Yobe states, will pay N8,327,125.59. Those travelling from the other 15 Northern states will be charged N8,457,685.59. Pilgrims from the Southern states, which have the highest travel expenses, will face a fare of N8,784,085.59.
NAHCON’s decision to structure the fares was the result of collaborative discussions involving the commission, the presidency, and the leadership of various State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards. This joint effort aims to ensure that the costs of the pilgrimage remain manageable for as many Nigerians as possible, despite the ongoing economic fluctuations.

NAHCON, under the leadership of Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, emphasised that this fare structure is in line with those from previous years. The commission’s goal is to stabilise the costs of travel and accommodation while addressing the financial challenges that could affect the affordability of the pilgrimage. Professor Usman expressed gratitude to the presidency and state welfare boards for their active involvement in managing these costs.
As the 2025 Hajj season draws nearer, NAHCON urges all prospective pilgrims to pay close attention to the timelines for the pilgrimage. The commission stressed the necessity of early payments and timely registrations to avoid last-minute complications. Additionally, pilgrims are encouraged to follow the guidelines set by Saudi authorities to ensure a smooth and successful pilgrimage.
The announcement of the 2025 Hajj fare has drawn significant attention from potential pilgrims, as the cost of the pilgrimage is a crucial factor for many Nigerian Muslims. With prices ranging from N8.3 million to N8.7 million, NAHCON’s commitment to maintaining affordability through collaboration is evident. As the preparations continue, it remains essential for pilgrims to stay informed, plan ahead, and ensure they meet all necessary requirements to facilitate a smooth and fulfilling Hajj experience.
