Are You Safe? Your NIN Could Be Exposing You to Fraud

Do you know that more than one number can be linked to your National Identification Number (NIN)? If you didn’t know, now you do. Sims acquired from roadside stores or unofficial SIM card distributors are usually manipulated at the point of registration. Hackers can also manipulate your NIN and link several numbers to it to commit fraud or other crimes. This can have dangerous repercussions for a person.

Here’s how to check if or how many numbers are connected to your NIN. Dial 9964# to know if anyone else is connected to your NIN.

If you spot any suspicious numbers, head to your network provider’s service centre immediately to report and resolve the issue.

Remember, if someone else’s number is connected to your NIN, they could have access to your personal information, which could be used for criminal activity. This could ultimately be traced back to you!

Stay alert, and don’t forget to spread the word to friends and family—taking action now can save you from potential risks later.
