Evangelist Kekere Jesu And Four Others Dies In Car Crash

Nigeria’s gospel community is once again thrown into sadness following the untimely loss of four gospel pastors, including the beloved evangelist Ayodeji David, also known as Kekere Jesu.

The fatal accident occurred along the Ikorodu–Sagamu Road in Ogun State and reportedly claimed over 24 lives.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), through a statement released by Ogun State Commander and Public Information Officer Florence Okupe, confirmed the devastating incident. The victims were identified as Evangelist Ayodeji Kekere Jesu, Evangelist Iyanu Joseph, Monjolajesu Oluwapamilerin, and Opeyemi Adesina.

According to the FRSC, the accident involved multiple vehicles and was caused by over speeding and poor visibility, resulting in a high-impact collision that instantly killed the occupants of the affected vehicle.

Evangelist Kekere Jesu, a vibrant and widely followed preacher known for his street evangelism, dynamic preaching style, and strong online presence, was reportedly on his way to a ministry assignment at the time of the accident.

Tributes have since flooded social media, with followers, fellow ministers, and admirers expressing grief and shock over the loss. Many described Kekere Jesu as a devoted man of God whose passion for youth outreach and rural evangelism left a lasting impact.

Prophet Sam Olu Alo, founder of Christ Apostolic Church, Grace of Mercy Prayer Mountain International Ministry, paid tribute via his Facebook page, writing:
“UNQUESTIONABLE GOD!! Hmmmmnnn….. This is indeed a rude shock today. But who are we to question God… For His thoughts are higher than our thoughts, and His ways are higher than our ways… Rest in peace, my beloved brother @ Evangelist Ayodeji David (Kekere Jesu).”

Another mourner, Kenny John, posted a heartfelt message:
“The accident that occurred on Saturday, April 5th, along the Shagamu–Ibadan Motorway claimed the lives of 22 people. Out of those, four were personally known to me: Prophet Ayodeji, also known as Kekere Jesu; Evangelist Iyanu Joseph; Prophet Ayodeji Kekere Jesu’s fiancée; and the wife of his elder brother. It still feels like a dream. May their souls rest in perfect peace.”

As the gospel community continues to mourn this painful loss, prayers and condolences continue to pour in for the families and loved ones left behind.

The gospel industry also lost an energetic actress in February, ‘Abattoir’ star Flora Adegboyega-Alagbe. The young actress died in a car accident while travelling along the Lagos-Ibadan Motorway.
