The Lagos State Police Command has exposed a baby factory in the Ijegun area of the state, rescuing 10 victims and arresting three individuals linked to the illegal operation.

According to Hundeyin, officers swiftly mobilized and raided the location, apprehending the suspected operator, 35-year-old Mariam Vincent, alongside two accomplices: 23-year-old Orie Ruth and 18-year-old Ujunwa Ifeanyi.

During the raid, seven adult women and three children were found and rescued. The adult victims were identified as Precious (24), Magdalene (25), Adaobi (23), Princess (22), Ifeanyi (25), and Amaka (26). The rescued children were named Destiny (7), Miracle (5), and Success (2).

All victims are currently receiving medical care and psychosocial support as investigations continue.

Preliminary findings suggest that the victims were abducted from various parts of Lagos, with the suspects allegedly running an illegal child trafficking ring.

Hundeyin confirmed that the case is under further investigation and that the suspects will be charged once evidence gathering is complete.

In a broader crackdown on crime, the Lagos State Police Command also arrested 39 individuals in the past two weeks for offences including murder, armed robbery, kidnapping, rape, child theft, vandalism, and illegal possession of weapons and narcotics.

A swift response was initiated after a distress call was received around 9 p.m., and a coordinated effort involving local security forces led to the victims’ safe rescue at approximately 11:56 p.m. on March 29. Both victims have since been reunited with their families.
