Trump Reaffirms Commitment To Christian Faith This Holy Week
Washington, D.C. As Christians across the globe observe Holy Week, former U.S. President Donald Trump has reaffirmed his commitment to defending the Christian faith and promoting religious liberty in a formal statement from the White House.
The statement, issued during one of the most sacred periods on the Christian calendar, emphasised the spiritual significance of Easter while renewing the Trump administration’s promise to uphold Christian values in all areas of American life. Holy Week marks the final days of Jesus Christ’s life on Earth, culminating in his crucifixion and resurrection—a central tenet of Christian belief.
“This Holy Week, Melania and I join in prayer with Christians celebrating the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ—the living Son of God who conquered death, freed us from sin and unlocked the gates of Heaven for all of humanity,” the statement read.
Despite recent economic turbulence linked to tariff policies introduced during his tenure, Trump set aside political matters to focus on faith. He used the occasion to underscore his administration’s support for religious freedom.

“My administration renews its promise to defend the Christian faith in our schools, military, workplaces, hospitals, and halls of government,” he stated. “We will never waver in safeguarding the right to religious liberty, upholding the dignity of life, and protecting God in our public square.”
Trump concluded the message with a personal blessing to the nation, adding, “May God bless you and your family during this special time of year, and may He continue to bless the United States of America.”
The statement was widely circulated through official government channels, reinforcing Trump’s alignment with the Christian community and his ongoing advocacy for the public expression of faith.
Holy Week, leading up to Easter Sunday, remains a deeply reflective time for millions of Christians worldwide, and Trump’s message was seen by many as a gesture of solidarity and spiritual encouragement during the solemn observance.
