Fake News! Ebenezer Obey Clears The Air On Death Rumors
Veteran Nigerian musician and evangelist Professor Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi has firmly dismissed circulating rumors about his death, confirming he is alive and in good health.
The 83-year-old music icon addressed the issue in a video released on Tuesday morning. In a spirited performance blending English, Yoruba, and Pidgin English, Obey sang, “Hello, my name is Professor Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi. Satan, you don lose, oh, Satan, you don lose, you don pafuka. Na lie, lie you dey talk, you don pafuka.”
Following his musical message, the respected evangelist issued a formal statement to the public, saying:
“It is fake news that started a few hours ago claiming that I, Evangelist Obey, have passed on to glory.
It is a lie. I am alive, and that is not the word Jesus has written.”
The rumor began making the rounds on social media late Monday, prompting widespread concern and premature tributes from fans.
Obey-Fabiyi’s clarification has since brought relief to many who hold him in high esteem for his contribution to gospel and juju music across generations.
