Anambra Destroys Hotel Linked to Kidnapping and Rituals
The Anambra State Government has uncovered and demolished a hotel in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area, that served as a hideout for kidnappers and other criminal activities. The shocking discovery was made at the Udoka Golden Points Hotel and Suites, popularly known as “La Cruise Hotel,” located along Onitsha-Owerri Road.
The operation, carried out based on intelligence reports and thorough investigations by security agencies, revealed chilling evidence of the hotel’s illicit operations. Authorities uncovered 30 graves, a shrine, firearms, and military camouflage within the premises, shedding light on the extent of the atrocities committed there.
According to officials, the building was used to coordinate kidnappings, detain victims, and possibly carry out ritual practices. The demolition, supervised by representatives of the state government, security agencies, and community leaders, marks a decisive step in the fight against insecurity in the region.
Residents in the area were left shocked and frightened by the revelations. Many described the hotel as an ordinary business that blended seamlessly into the neighbourhood. “We had no idea such evil was happening right under our noses,” a resident remarked.
Speaking on the incident, the Commissioner for Security, Abdullahi Mohammed, reiterated the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards criminality. “This action sends a clear message that Anambra will not tolerate any individual or group threatening the safety and well-being of its citizens,” he stated. He also urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities.

The government assured the public that investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend all individuals connected to the hideout. Mohammed added, “We are committed to ensuring justice is served and preventing such heinous activities from recurring.”
Community leaders commended the swift action by the government and security agencies, calling for sustained collaboration to tackle crime in the state. The demolition and its shocking discoveries have heightened awareness among residents, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts to maintain peace and security in Anambra State.
