Bauchi Cabinet Reshuffle: Who’s Out and Who’s In?
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has removed five commissioners from his cabinet in a reshuffle designed to enhance governance and ensure improved service delivery in the state.
This was disclosed in a statement by his media aide, Mukhtar Gidado, on Tuesday in Bauchi. Gidado explained that the decision reflects the governor’s commitment to introducing new ideas and energy into the administration to address emerging challenges effectively.
The commissioners affected by the reshuffle include:
- Dr. Jamila Dahiru, Commissioner for Education
- Abubakar Bununu, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs
- Usman Danturaki, Commissioner for Information and Communication
- Prof. Simon Yalams, Commissioner for Agriculture
- Yakubu Hamza, Commissioner for Religious Affairs and Social Reorientation
In the statement, Gidado emphasised that cabinet reconstitution is a routine measure designed to strengthen the machinery of government and improve its efficiency.
“In a strategic effort to reinvigorate governance and ensure optimal service delivery to the people of Bauchi State, His Excellency Governor Bala Mohammed has approved the reconstitution of his cabinet. Five commissioners were dropped as part of this process,” the statement read.
Governor Mohammed extended his gratitude to the outgoing commissioners for their dedication and contributions to the growth and development of Bauchi State. “Their efforts have been instrumental in advancing key initiatives and policies of this administration, and we wish them success in their future endeavours,” the governor stated.
To fill the vacant positions, the governor has forwarded a list of eight nominees to the Bauchi State House of Assembly for approval. The nominees are:
- Isa Tilde
- Abdullahi Mohammed
- Dr. Bala Lukshi
- Usman Shehu
- Iliyasu Gital
- Prof. Titus Ketkukah
- Adamu Gabarin
- Dr. Mohammed Lawal
Gidado reiterated the administration’s unwavering commitment to fulfilling its mandate of delivering impactful development and improving the welfare of the people of Bauchi State. He noted that the reshuffle is part of ongoing efforts to align the government’s structure with its vision for effective governance.
