Bishop David Abioye Launches New Church After Retirement

Bishop David Abioye, former vice president of Living Faith Church (also known as Winners Chapel), officially launched his own church in 2024 after retiring from the ministry.

Abioye announced on his verified X (formerly Twitter) page, revealing that Sunday services for the new church would begin in the morning starting May 4, 2025.

“Exciting news! By the grace of God, starting next Sunday, our service is moving to the morning, 8:00 AM. It’s a new day for you — come ready to be blessed mightily in Jesus’ name. Mark your calendars, set your alarms — we can’t wait to see you there! Tag someone you’re inviting!” he wrote.

Bishop Abioye and Bishop Thomas Aremu both retired in October 2024 following a policy change within Living Faith Church that set the mandatory retirement age for leadership at 55. At the time, Aremu was 67 years old and Abioye was 63.

After his retirement, Abioye initially launched a non-denominational ministry that held Sunday evening services. With this latest move, he now transitions to full church leadership, officially returning to Sunday morning worship services.
