CAC Mega Assembly Dedication And Crusade Held In Ughelli

The Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Nigeria and Overseas, held a historic event to mark the dedication of the First CAC Mega Assembly and the Hanson Region Ughelli City Crusade under the theme “GREAT JOY IN THE CITY.”

The event took place from Wednesday, March 12th, to Friday, March 14th, 2025, with the church dedication scheduled for Friday at 10:00 AM and a night vigil held from 10:00 PM until dawn.

The Church Dedication was held at CAC Mega Assembly, along Ughelli Asaba Express, Ovwodokpokpor, Ughelli, Delta State, while the Ughelli City Crusade was hosted at Oharisi Primary School, Isoko Road, Ughelli City.

The dedication was officially conducted by Pastor S. O. Oladele, the President of CAC Nigeria and Overseas. The general evangelist, Prophet Hezekiah O. Oladeji, led prayers for the new church and the success of its mission.

In his welcome address, Pastor Timothy A. Gbegudu, the Regional Superintendent of CAC Hanson Region, provided a brief history of the church and officially presented the church property documents to the CAC President. Pastor Princewill Aimienoho, the regional revivalist of CAC Hanson Region, also played a vital role in organising the event.

Several invited guests and members of the congregation expressed their joy, recalling the long journey of establishing this place of worship. The dedication marks a significant milestone in the growth of the church in Ughelli and the broader CAC mission in Nigeria and overseas.

As part of the events, the Hanson Region, Ughelli City, Delta State, held a stakeholders’ meeting with CAC President Pastor S. O. Oladele. During the meeting, the president addressed various concerns and questions raised by attendees. He expressed gratitude for the dedication and commitment of members and took time to reflect on the rich history of the Christ Apostolic Church.

In his speech, Pastor Oladele spoke about the founding of CAC, acknowledging the four pairs of pioneers who played key roles in establishing the church and shaping its growth over the years. Its history can be traced back to the early 1918–1928 revivals, led by Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola, a powerful preacher known for his divine healing ministry and prophetic call. These revivals were influenced by the Faith Tabernacle movement from the United States and marked a significant shift toward Pentecostalism in Nigeria.

By 1941, after facing doctrinal and administrative conflicts with the Apostolic Church (UK Mission), CAC was officially established as an independent indigenous Pentecostal church. The church founders, often referred to as the four pairs of pioneers, played crucial roles in shaping its doctrine, structure, and growth across Nigeria and beyond.

Today, CAC is a globally recognised Christian denomination with thousands of assemblies in Nigeria, Africa, Europe, North America, and beyond. It remains committed to evangelism, prayer, and holiness, upholding its foundational beliefs while expanding its mission worldwide.

He emphasised the importance of unity, faith, and evangelism in continuing the legacy of CAC both in Nigeria and overseas.
