D.k. Olukoya: “Deflowering Women Has Spiritual Consequences”
Pastor D.k. Olukoya, the General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), has issued a warning to men regarding the spiritual consequences of deflowering women without marrying them.
In a recent sermon, Olukoya asserted that men who take a woman’s virginity form a spiritual covenant with her, which can result in long-term spiritual bondage. He claimed that such acts could lead to demonic influences being transferred to future partners, potentially causing turmoil in their lives.
The sermon was delivered during a church service, though the exact date remains unspecified.
The message was preached at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), a prominent Nigerian church known for its emphasis on spiritual warfare and holiness.
Olukoya’s message stems from his belief that sexual relationships create spiritual covenants, particularly when a woman loses her virginity. He warned that failing to marry the woman could lead to generational consequences unless the covenant is broken through spiritual intervention.
Olukoya’s Statement
During his sermon, Olukoya explained the spiritual implications of premarital sex, particularly for men who deflower women:
“If you’re a man and you have disvirgined somebody or more than one lady, don’t be surprised if your life is upside down. When you disvirgin a woman, you wet your male organ with the blood from that woman, forming a covenant with her. To then refuse to marry her creates a serious spiritual problem. This covenant can affect generations unless it is broken. If the woman involved has demonic influences, then the man has formed a covenant with her and with a demon, which he may unknowingly transfer to other partners.”
Olukoya’s statement has sparked widespread debate, with opinions divided on its validity. Some critics dismissed his claims as unsubstantiated religious rhetoric. Some questioned the relevance of such teachings in the face of Nigeria’s socio-political challenges:
Olukoya’s sermon has ignited discussions on spiritual beliefs, morality, and modern relationship dynamics. While some agree with his warnings about the spiritual implications of premarital sex, others see his message as outdated and impractical. As the debate continues, the sermon highlights the enduring tension between religious doctrine and contemporary social realities.
