DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:
The Song of Solomon stands out in the scriptures as an inspired and meticulously crafted account of God’s thoughts on the nature of the relationship mankind should have with Him. Written by the wise sage, King Solomon, it expresses the best of Solomon’s rendition.
It portrays an idyllic illustration of the unpolished love between a shepherd and a shepherdess. Solomon was the shepherd, and the peasant Shulamite was the shepherdess. The Shulamite is enraptured with the love of Solomon. So are other virgin daughters drawn irresistibly to the personality and quality of the name of Solomon. The shepherdess likens Solomon’s love to the sweetness of wine.
King Solomon invites the Shulamite into his chambers. That invitation elicits joy in the Shulamite and the other virgins. Christ’s unfettered love for His church is the obvious illustration of this song. Christ’s name is an attractive ointment to His beloved saints. His love is better than wine.
True children of God always find in Christ an unfathomable depth of love that draws them ever so close to the Lord. The poetic song is an illustration of the joy of salvation of the believer’s newfound love in the Saviour who has given Himself freely and fully to His children. Not only does the Holy Spirit witness within the believer’s spirit that he is now a child of God. But Christ also draws the believer to a deeper commitment and dedication to God.

He who has truly experienced Christ’s salvation has no other name sweeter than Jesus’ name. From then on, the believer experiences a wholesome joy of spirit in the community of God’s children. in, the fellowship of the church, where Christ is the centre of admiration. The question is, are you part of this fellowship?
