Funke Felix-Adejumo– ‘Women Stop Pretending You Hate Sex’

Renowned clergywoman Funke Felix-Adejumo has urged married women to embrace intimacy in their marriages, challenging long-held cultural perceptions that discourage open expressions of marital affection.

In a viral video circulating on social media, Felix-Adejumo addressed the topic during a church sermon, emphasizing that intimacy is a natural and essential aspect of marriage. She criticized societal norms that condition women to downplay their enjoyment of marital relations for fear of being negatively labelled.

“Who told us that women don’t like sex? I like it. If I didn’t, how would I have children? You are just pretending—you like it too. African culture has conditioned women to believe they shouldn’t show enjoyment, or else they will be labelled negatively,” she asserted.

Felix-Adejumo encouraged women to break free from these restrictive beliefs, warning that suppressing natural desires could lead to marital dissatisfaction and conflicts.

“Tell yourself, ‘Sex is good! I want my husband.’ And when you are with him, don’t just stay still—moan! Don’t believe in that African mentality. Let’s change it because the devil is using it to destroy marriages. Sex is the highest level of intimacy. Tickle your husband; touch him when he is making love to you. And when he finishes, tell him, ‘Good job!’” she advised.

Her latest message adds to an ongoing dialogue about balancing tradition with evolving perspectives on intimacy in African marriages.
