Gospel Music industry in Shock as Aduke Gold Passes on

Young gospel singer Aduke Ajayi, also known as Aduke Gold, dies after battling an undisclosed illness for 2 months. Gospel singer Esther Igbekele posted the news of the singer’s death on social media with the caption “A general has fallen.” Aduke Gold, who was a promising young artist, had been plagued by vertigo throughout her career.

She was orphaned at age four and struggled to bring her career to the limelight. Aduke started her career in 2004. She was known for her spirited live performances, and the most notable one was the remembrance of the late gospel singer Baba Ara. Aduke Gold had her breakthrough after her single Nitori-Ogo in her 8-track album went viral on social media.

The late singer is a graduate of Lagos State University and Montessori Education in the UK. The music industry has been thrown in confusion since the news of Aduke’s death. The singer died at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, on Monday, August 12 2024.
