Taking a critical view to her statement, a typical listener will say she’s in the wrong with her statement and she’s indeed a new act but approaching her statements from a different perspective let’s say an artist’s view or a professional in the music industry she’s clearly not a new artist.
Yes she wasn’t popular until recently but she has been actively making music for the last 26 years, every artist goes through this stage of being unknown or underground before becoming successful. This phase of an artist’s career cannot be overlooked just because nobody was aware of them during that period.
Lilian Nneji further said she embraces that period of life she calls “process” and advices young music upstarts to embrace the “process” I.e their making, the journey of their career and that it will definitely lead to a rewarding end.
Lilian Nneji is definitely not a new artist rather she’s a determined and courageous woman who remained steadfast in her craft even though she was not popular and getting little proceeds. She is a seasoned act and deserves her flowers.
