Kidnapped Rev. Father Ibrahim Amos Regains His Freedom

The Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan has announced the safe release of Rev. Father Ibrahim Amos, who was abducted by gunmen early Thursday morning from his home.

Fr Amos, who serves as the parish priest of St Gerald Quasi Parish in Kurmin Risga, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, returned unharmed around 10 p.m. that same day.

In a statement, the diocesan chancellor, Rev. Fr Jacob Shanet, expressed gratitude to security agencies and the public for their support, prayers, and concern during the ordeal.

“Your compassion and prayers reaffirm that we are not alone in our fight to uphold the value and dignity of human life,” Shanet said. “We are thankful to God for His protection and deeply appreciate everyone who stood by us during this distressing time.”

He also prayed for the safe return of all those still in captivity, asking for the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the angels on their behalf.
