Lizzy Anjorin Slams Tope Alabi For Snubbing Her Birthday
Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin has made headlines after calling out popular gospel singer Tope Alabi for allegedly refusing to perform at her birthday celebration. The incident, which has since gone viral, has sparked widespread conversation across social media platforms.
According to reports, Tope Alabi and her husband-manager, Soji Alabi, were contracted to make a surprise appearance at a birthday party. However, upon discovering that the event was for Lizzy Anjorin, the couple reportedly chose to remain inside their vehicle and declined to perform. Their decision is said to have created noticeable tension at the venue.
In a heated Instagram post, Anjorin addressed the situation directly, expressing her disappointment and claiming that she would never have paid for Alabi’s performance if she had been the one to invite her. The actress also emphasised that she does not need the gospel singer’s validation to feel fulfilled.
“Aunty Tope, I love you, but I do not need you. If I had invited her myself, I would not have paid a dime,” Anjorin wrote. She went on to compare their respective contributions to society, boldly stating, “I am holier than you. If we are to ask about your impact on society, I have impacted more lives than you. I am pure. If you judge me because of my court cases, I am thankful that God did not judge me.”

Anjorin added that she already owns several of Alabi’s songs and could easily play them at home without needing her to perform live.

As of the time of this report, Tope Alabi and her management have not responded publicly to Anjorin’s claims.
