Mercy Chinwo, Husband Praise Biden for Selfless Leadership
Gospel music artist Mercy Chinwo and her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, have expressed their appreciation to Joe Biden, the outgoing President of the United States, for his dedicated service to humanity.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the couple thanked Biden for acknowledging their contributions to the United States through their music and ministry.
They recounted receiving the prestigious Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from the 82-year-old Biden in October 2024. The award honours individuals who demonstrate a lifelong commitment to volunteerism and efforts to strengthen communities and the nation.
Reflecting on this recognition, Mercy Chinwo and Blessed Uzochikwa highlighted its significance as an acknowledgement of their dedication to impacting lives through their ministry and music. Their work has touched communities in the United States and around the world.
Commending Biden for his selfless service, the couple quoted Ecclesiastes 3:1: “To everything, there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven.” They remarked:
“As President Joe Biden’s time in office draws to a close, we are reminded of the passage of time and the seasons of life. Each chapter, no matter how significant, eventually gives way to the next. It is a poignant reminder that what truly matters is the legacy we leave behind—the values we uphold, the lives we touch, and the good we do for others.
In the spirit of gratitude, we are deeply honoured to have received the President Biden Lifetime Achievement Award last year. This recognition serves as a powerful reminder to remain committed to serving humanity through charity, education, and the principles of faith.
They concluded: “We extend our sincere thanks to President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for this honour and for their dedication to championing the power of service and community impact. We wish them love and peace as they retire home as senior citizens of the United States of America.”
Mercy Chinwo and Blessed Uzochikwa, who have been married since August 2022, co-own The Grace and Truth Nation, a music label that has signed and trained many gospel artists.
