Mountain of Fire Chorale Wins Gold at Global Choir Olympics
The MFM top chorale team has just won a gold medal at the recently concluded World Choir Games 2024 in Auckland, New Zealand. The World Choir Games are a renowned international competition that celebrates the richness and uniqueness of choral music all around the globe.
Reacting to the great win, the general overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Prof. Daniel Olukola, took to his Facebook platform on Thursday to express his delight at the win, saying, “The World Choir Games, often dubbed the Olympics of choral music, are a renowned international competition that celebrates the diversity of choral music and fosters global harmony through song.”
The organisers of the World Choir Games also applauded the MFM top choir for their great performance, saying, “It’s fantastic to see the MFM Mountain Top Chorale compete in category C19—contemporary music mixed voices and earn 83.38 points.” The World Choir Games are a prestigious international competition that celebrates the rich tapestry of choral music from around the globe that fosters global harmony through song.

According to WCG’s website, the year-long event had more than 11,000 singers from over 30 countries in Auckland, making it the largest choral competition and festival on the planet.
Their performances featured the “Ekiti Medley,” composed by Dr. Daniel Olukoya and arranged by Seun Owoaje.
In addition to the gold medal won, the MFM choir has qualified to participate in significant events organised by INTERKULTUR (the largest choral competition in the world); these include the World Choir Games championship and the World Choir Championship Champions round for the next 5 years.
