  • Consecration of Saint Louis IX (1248): Saint Louis IX of France was officially consecrated as a saint on August 29. He is remembered for his deep Christian faith and for leading two crusades as King of France.
  • The Reformation Parliament (1534): On August 29, 1534, the English Parliament passed the Act of Supremacy, declaring King Henry VIII as the Supreme Head of the Church of England. This act was a crucial step in the English Reformation, leading to the separation of the Church of England from the Roman Catholic Church.
  • Saint Sabina (c. 117-138 AD): Saint Sabina, an early Christian martyr, is remembered on August 29. She was a Roman noblewoman who was martyred for her Christian faith. Her feast day is observed by both the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church.
