Pastor E.A Adeboye Disowns AI Video Drug Advert of Himself

Pastor E.A Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has disassociated himself from AI-generated videos falsely portraying him as endorsing certain drugs and scholarships.

In a statement on his personal X account, Adeboye warned the public about misleading social media posts originating from platforms such as “Africa Health Centre” and “Church-Funded Scholarships”.

“These videos are NOT from me, and I want to make it clear that I have no involvement in such promotions,” he stated, urging people not to engage with or share the deceptive content. He also called on the public to report the fraudulent accounts to help curb misinformation.

Adeboye assured that relevant authorities were already handling the situation and emphasised that God’s name should not be exploited for deceptive purposes.

Last month AI generated pictures of Pastor Adebayo wearing a muslim attire and praying in Mecca were circulated online.

AI-generated videos featuring public figures, including politicians, celebrities, and media personalities, have become increasingly common on social media, often created to manipulate public perception and spread false narratives.
