Paul Enenche And a Sunday of Controversy

“So the testimony is a lie. Is that how lawyers speak English? When she started that testimony, I knew there was something wrong,” he said. A testimony is the acknowledgement of God’s wonders, but on Sunday, at the Dunamis headquarters, a testimony turned into a disgrace. On April 14, a woman stepped up to the pulpit of the church of Pastor Paul Enenche to make a testimony of God’s grace in her life.

The woman started her testimony by praising God and stating that nobody has ever graduated from a higher institution in her family. Miss Anyim said she had enrolled for a law degree at the National Open University of Nigeria. She said during the course that some circumstances came up and it felt like she wouldn’t finish, but God came through for her. After her testimony, Pastor Paul quizzed her about what type of law she studied, and the woman answered “BSc.” Pastor Paul then replied, There is nothing like that. He then said the testimony was a lie and sent the woman to her seat.

Furthermore, he said nobody should come to the altar to lie. Later that day, the video of the testimony surfaced online. Unfortunately, Pastor Paul’s words were wrong. Members of the public had verified the claims of Miss Anyim, and they were true. She had graduated in nouns and was among the best performers in her class. Since then, Pastor Paul has been receiving criticism for the way he questioned the woman. Many people feel he has embarrassed the woman, who is also a police officer, in front of his congregation, and he should apologize.

The sister to Miss Anyim also posted on social media that her sister had been disrespected and embarrassed by Paul Enenche. She also said her sister has stage fright, which affects her communication, hence her lack of confidence when the pastor confronted her. Investigative journalist Deborah Tolu-kolawole also confirmed Miss Anyim’s claims, and in another post on her X page, she stated that religious figures are very much humans too. Paul Enenche has not responded to the situation yet.
