She is the daughter of well-known pastor Tony Evans and has built a strong following through her best-selling books, popular speaking engagements, and roles in films such as “War Room..”
Her Early Life And The Start Of Her Ministry
Priscilla Shirer was raised in Dallas, Texas. Dallas, Texas, by her father, Tony Evan, who is the pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Church, and Lois Evan. She grew up loving the church and the word of God and has a master’s degree in biblical studies. She married Jerry Sherr in 1999 and has three kids: Jerry Jr., Jackson, and Jude Sherr. As a young wife and mother, Priscilla strived to take care of the house and also manage her ministry, but it wasn’t easy for her. She later proved to be an overcomer through her supportive husband.
Priscilla’s speaking ministry began in 1993, while she was in college. Although she planned to receive her degree in radio and television and go on to be a television anchor, God had different plans for her. While interning at a Christian radio station in Houston, she began to receive invitations to do Bible studies at small women’s events in the area and at many other shows and conferences. Through her books (“The Resolution for Women” (the best-selling book), A Jewel in His Crown, We Are Changed, to mention a few), videos, conferences, web shows, and most especially her ministry, “Going Beyond Ministry, she has been able to guide thousands of men and women through the study of the scriptures.
Founding Of Her Ministry
Priscilla Shirer and Jerry Shirer founded “Going Beyond Ministries” to teach God’s word and bring people closer to God. She has written numerous books that have been read by men and women of all ages, races, and denominations.
Priscilla’s outsize influence and role in teaching the Bible have always made people rush into classes to dive into her Bible study. She guides participants on a six-week Bible study that will equip them to more accurately discern God’s leading in their lives.
Her Contribution To The Christian Society
Priscilla Shirer’s great enthusiasm to spread and be a good example not only to the outside world but to her family has earned her recognition and awards. She has worked with authors such as Beth Moore and Kay Arthur on Bible study materials and resources, further impacting women to embrace their God-given purses with her teachings.
She supports various mission organisations, has travelled to different countries to encourage and empower individuals in their faith journeys, and has also appeared in Christian movies, including “War Room and “Overcomer.
