Prophet Hezekiah Visits Sam Maris University Akungba, Ondo.
Prophet Hezekiah Oladeji, the General Evangelist of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Worldwide, alongside other church delegates, paid a visit to Sam Maris University in Akungba, Ondo State. The delegation, which included the president of CAC Worldwide, was hosted by the university’s proprietor, Mr. Samuel T. Ologunorisa (SAN), who led them on a tour of the institution’s facilities.
During the visit, Mr. Ologunorisa recounted the remarkable journey behind the establishment of Sam Maris University. He revealed that his initial intention was to build a secondary school, but a well-meaning advisor suggested he consider starting a university instead, even if it began with just one faculty. Despite seeing the merit in the idea, financial constraints made the project seem unattainable.

Mr. Ologunorisa recalled a pivotal moment when he first shared his vision with Prophet Hezekiah, who prayed for him and encouraged him. However, funding remained a challenge, and it was not until a subsequent encounter with the prophet at a church program in Abuja that events took an unexpected turn. During the program, Prophet Hezekiah told Mr. Ologunorisa that God had revealed to him that he would be instrumental in completing a church project. This revelation took him by surprise, as the church in question was in dire need of significant renovations.

For the next two years, Mr. Ologunorisa continued seeking financial support. Eventually, he secured a loan of ₦35 million. Rather than investing the money directly in his university project, he chose to contribute ₦10 million to the church Prophet Hezekiah had spoken about and also donated a bus to the CAC branch in Akungba. In an act of faith, he allocated the entirety of the loan to church-related sponsorships.
Remarkably, within a month of making these contributions, Mr. Ologunorisa received an unexpected call to serve as the lead counsel in the high-profile legal case of former President Muhammadu Buhari versus former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. Reflecting on this series of events, he concluded his speech with the words, “Obedience is better than sacrifice.”
Prophet Hezekiah, serving as a spiritual mentor to Mr. Ologunorisa, led prayers for the university community and emphasised the need for increased government support for grassroots education. The visit reinforced the role of faith and divine direction in shaping institutions and underscored the importance of educational development at all levels.
