Prophet Olu Alo Urges Prayers for Tinubu’s Government

Popular cleric Prophet Sam Olu Alo has urged Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration through prayers, emphasizing the need for divine guidance in governance. Speaking at Jesus City along the Lekki-Epe Motorway during a special service, the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Adamimogo Grace of Mercy Prayer Mountain Worldwide planter called on citizens to intercede for the country’s leadership, especially as 2025 unfolds.

Prophet Alo expressed that while the country is facing economic challenges, President Tinubu has good intentions for Nigeria. He urged Nigerians to be patient and steadfast in their prayers, as divine wisdom is essential in governance.

“Nigerians should continue supporting President Bola Tinubu with prayers. The president has good intentions; he is not happy with the current hardship facing the nation,” Alo stated.

The cleric drew comparisons to the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, whose policies were initially misunderstood by many but later recognised for their long-term benefits. He emphasised that elected officials should consider their positions as opportunities to serve rather than personal entitlements.

“Despite the hardship, if those we voted for and put our trust in know why we put them there, Nigerians will continue to pray for them. Not everybody liked Awolowo’s policies. He would have become president if all Nigerians had supported him, but people began to recognise his value after his death.”

Beyond prayers, Prophet Alo highlighted the crucial role of agriculture in national development. He encouraged Nigerians, particularly the youth, to embrace farming as a means to boost the economy and reduce dependence on imports.

“All Nigerians have a role to play. Most of us should go back to farming. The government also needs to encourage people, particularly the youth, to return to agriculture.”

This call for agricultural revitalisation aligns with the Nigerian government’s agenda to boost local food production and reduce inflation caused by food shortages.

During the service, Prophet Alo demonstrated his commitment to economic empowerment by presenting a professional toolkit to Olasunkanmi Ayoade, a former trainee under his vocational empowerment programme. This initiative is part of his broader vision to equip individuals with skills that foster self-reliance and economic stability.

Dr Dele Osunmakinde, a United Kingdom-based pastor and guest at the gathering, commended Prophet Alo for his humility and dedication to supporting people. He described him as “a man of God with honour and integrity, anointed by the Spirit of God.”

“I’m the pastor of the Envoy Nation in the UK. Look at what happened to Dennis in this city; look at how the Prophet took it personally. He’s always all out, reaching out to people, supporting people, and helping people, and that is a very good one about him,” Dr Osunmakinde remarked.

Prophet Sam Olu Alo is not the only religious leader advocating prayers and support for President Tinubu’s administration. Several other notable clerics, like Pastor Enoch Adeboye and Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, have echoed similar sentiments.
