Solomon Buchi: “Dating Has No Biblical Basis”

Solomon Buchi, a popular Christian influencer, has sparked controversy with his controversial stance on dating among Christians. Buchi argues that dating is not found in the Bible and should be abolished. He believes that relationships should be built on the intention of marriage rather than aimless dating. Buchi urged Christians to approach relationships with a definitive purpose, either seeing the person as their future spouse or not.

Buchi criticised modern dating norms such as the talking stage and the prolonged process of getting to know someone before committing to marriage, arguing that these practices are not biblically supported. He also criticised the casual approach to relationships in contemporary society, urging men to be more intentional. In biblical times, men seeking marriage declared their intentions openly and involved authoritative figures from the beginning.

Buchi argued that dating is the root of many problems in modern relationships. He advised Christian women to set clear expectations and demand commitment from the onset. He dismissed romantic relationships that do not lead to marriage as lacking divine purpose.

Buchi’s statements have generated mixed reactions across social media platforms. Some Christians support his perspective, citing biblical values and the need for intentionality in relationships, while others argue that dating serves as a necessary step in building a strong foundation for marriage. Critics believe that eliminating dating could lead to rushed and incompatible marriages.

The debate continues as individuals reflect on the role of dating in Christian relationships and whether modern courtship practices align with biblical principles.
