Two Suspects killed After Killing Four Soldiers in Rivers
The Nigerian army has made known publicly the deaths of two criminals who were responsible for the crime of killing four soldiers in River State who were on protection duty.
In a statement on Tuesday, the spokesman of the Nigerian Army 6 Division in Port Harcourt, Lt.-Col. Danjuma shared the details of the killings.
The suspects were killed in their hiding place in Kalaogbokolo, Ahoada West local government area of Rivers, by 5 troops of a battalion who carried out a surprise thorough search in the community.
The two criminals that were killed in the gang were trying to escape before they were shot.
He said, “The gang killed four soldiers and abducted two Korean expatriates working for Daewoo Nigeria Limited on Dec. 12, 2023.
He added, “Two of the gang members were apprehended during the operation but were neutralised after attempting to escape into the bush following a lengthy chase by the soldiers.”
The Lt. Col. emphasised the fact that intelligence had disclosed the gang’s whereabouts in the community.

He further disclosed that the troops retrieved several weapons and ammunition, including:
An AK-47 rifle, a Fabrique National rifle, and a pump-action shotgun—two locally made rifles.
Three AK-47 magazines and 16 rounds of ammunition (including 7.62mm NATO and 7.62mm Special).
The spokesman reassures that every criminal activity will surely be exposed, no matter how long it takes, and face the law.
“The Nigerian Army reiterates that, regardless of how long it takes, criminals involved in such heinous acts will face severe consequences for their actions.
“We assure citizens of the division’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, and we encourage them to continue providing actionable intelligence on the activities of criminal gangs.”
